Flim in the morning

Having lunch with my buddy Dale at a meat-and-three last week and talking about slick music among other things. We agreed that we never liked it and that we had less and less patience with it. But, when I think about it, I was probably lying about the first part. In the 80’s we listened to a lot of Flim and the BB’s at my house and in our cars. On road trips we would joke about having a little Flim in the morning (sounds like phlegm? guess it is more a vocal joke - and I believe that I have mentioned more than once that my kids were geeks).
I don’t know much about the band. These guys are amazing players, and for me it is all about the bass (Jimmy Flim Johnson no less) and drums. But it sure is slick; they created the theme for a soap opera I’ve read. They were clearly innovators in technology, though now a little of the 80’s technology sounds dated. But they sure can play. And I like the Beatles’ references that they throw in occasionally - like in this tune. And I like a little white bread now and then.
From the This is a Recording album (a quick search didn’t come up with a source to buy this new):
