On Monday I got a new grandson, the third in four years. His stats and a detailed visual account of his life thusfar can be found at Jackson’s blog. His mom Sabrina hasn’t had time to blog I think; she’s been taking care of business and doing a good job of it. Here Jake is settling into his grandad’s lap for the first time.
I think I may call him Jake, as in “Get Up Jake”, or Snuffy as Zavier suggested. Of course, just as my daughter Sarah refused to be called Sally, as Jackson shrugged off Jack, as their uncle traded Daniel for Paco, and another uncle has remained Pepper for almost 50 years, Jake will get to choose. I can’t quit thinking about the Jakes he will become. Who would have guessed that Zavier would become so colorful -
- or Carter so furry.
I am working on Jake’s lullaby. I have one for each boy. I think the melody for Jake’s will be based on John Fahey playing “In Christ there Is No East or West”, something I have recently re-discovered.
