Here’s what I think is about to happen

I think there are a bunch of Republicans in a room somewhere figuring out how to replace Palin. They will wait until after the VP debate just in case Biden says something so outrageous that it makes Palin look good. But, in the absence of divine intervention, they will most likely be compelled to dump her after the debate.
They have already made some loose cannon plays that didn’t sink them, so now they’ll just go for broke(r). O course they have to get her out without too many questions that could reflect badly on McCain or have other unintended consequences and it has to be fast - not so many days left in this campaign.
Here is what I expect them to come up with. Palin admits to the affair that the Enquirer has been yapping about - she steps down - it seems like the right thing to do - too distracting for the campaign - all the questions are about, ‘how hot was the sex?’ - she moves on to the reality show circuit - the McCain Cheapshot Express moves on with a new evangelical in the VP seat - Huckabee. The Republicans still have a #2 who satisfies the core - and he would probably get by without debating Biden - not enough time. Don’t think this could work for them (although we Democrats do know how to screwup a sure thing) but it would sure be fun to watch.
